Scatter Sunshine

The title of this little painting is taken from an old hymn by the same name.  I have sung it often in church since I was a child.  I hear the melody in my head as I read the words:

In a world where sorrow
Ever will be known,
Where are found the needy
And the sad and lone,
How much joy and comfort
You can all bestow,
If you scatter sunshine
Ev’rywhere you go.

Scatter sunshine all along your way.
Cheer and bless and brighten
Ev’ry passing day.

There are more verses, but this will do.  We all have the power to lift others up or drag them down.  I find it is so easy to be negative and it becomes a habit.  Being positive, at least for me, has to be a conscience choice.  I for one would like to “scatter sunshine all along [my] way”

How about you?

I was playing around in It’s a free photo editing website I discovered through my Webinarts online class with Leslie Saeta. I love how this “sunshine” poster turned out. I used a pic of one of my original art quilts, adding text and a frame.
