Day 2 The Gang’s All Here.

I loved drawing these little bunnies.  I’m not sure how to classify my little paintings.  Folk art?  Nursery art?  You decide.  Right now I’m just having fun with these little “bits”.   *SOLD*

New Year’s Daily Painting Challenge

Tomorrow,  I (and about 400 other artists) will start the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge on Leslie Saeta’s Blog.  This will be my 3rd time participating and it has made all the difference in my “artist” life.  Come along with me and enjoy some fabulous art.  The question still remains though…. What am I going to paint tomorrow?!  Stay tuned!

5 Little Pumpkins

Day 16

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.

The first one said “Oh my, it’s getting late”

The second one said “There are witches in the air”

The third one said “Well, I don’t care”

The fourth one said “Let’s run and run and run”

The fifth one said  “I’m ready for some fun!”

Whooo went the wind and out went the light and the

five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.

(Can you tell I used to teach Kindergarten music?)

Cabbage Rose in Cloth

I’ve thought for sometime that my watercolor drawings would translate well into applique.  I really like how this came out.  After drawing the pattern, I transfered it to a paper back fusible.  I then cut out the separate parts of the flower and ironed them onto the blue background.  I used then a machine satin stitch to secure the edges  The block measures about 10″ square.  I haven’t done any quilting yet.Image

Here’s the watercolor drawing that was my inspiration.

I just have enough fabric to make a couple more blocks. Rather than try to make this quilt (as cute as it is)  I think I will make a table runner or wall hanging.   Then it might actually get made in this decade!   I will certainly share when I have a finished, quilted project.
