Not a very original title, I know. I wish I had more time to do something wonderful. This one has some flaws, and I’m not too excited about it, but at least I am keeping up with the challenge! Only 25 days to go. Blue sky courtesy of Picmonkey.

Day 25 Quilts for Sale
It was time for me to do a painting with a quilting theme. The quilter who lives here sure doesn’t have to look far for inspiration!

Sweet Home with Dog
Be it ever so lovely, there’s no place like home. Home, sweet, sweet home–especially if a dog lives there!
Previously, I have added a few kitties to my pics for you cat lovers out there. But I can’t leave the dog lovers out.
I have never been a cat owner, but have had a couple of dogs. So therefore I must place myself in the dog lovers camp. We had a little black dachshund when I was growing up. His name was Sparky. I became convinced he was the best dog in the world. I had already married and moved away by the time he died. I was glad I wasn’t there. Sad. For years my boys wanted a dog. We finally gave in when I thought they were old enough to do the work it takes. (Well they were old enough, but of course it was Mom and Dad still did everything). Beau was a large, lovable golden retriever. He became our 3rd child. When Beau died after 11 years, it left a big hole. Sometimes I have thought about getting another dog, but I think better about it. Dogs are a lot of work and it’s so sad when they die. Don’t want to go through that again. I do pet every dog I meet on the street, though.
Whether you are a dog or cat lover, their companionship is one of life’s simple pleasures. Enjoy!

I opened my Etsy shop!
You haven’t heard from me for awhile because I was busy setting up my Etsy shop. I recently came across the phrase “done is better than perfect”. Well that’s how I feel. The shop doesn’t have everything I want (like international shipping that I have yet to investigate) but at least it is DONE! Not everything is in the shop yet. I will continue to add items every day–so keep checking. The name of my shop is Blue Pumpkin Studio (don’t ask–I just like the name). I would appreciate it if you would at least check it out and “like” my shop. Here is a new painting I haven’t shown before. It’s called “Home with Kitty” and is available in my shop.

Home for the Holidays
I came home from Las Vegas and was greeted by 30 degree weather and snow on the ground ! I wasn’t expecting that. if it was December, I might have welcomed it. I better get used to it. Time to break out the gloves and scarves. This little painting illustrates how nice it is to be home–no matter the weather.
Lil’ Lamb
I’ve been having fun painting a few pictures these last few days. I’m away from home–away from my quilting machine– so this is my creative outlet while I’m visiting my Mom. I can paint and visit with her at the same time, so it’s been great. There’s no particular inspiration for this piece. I just like houses and little critters, I guess.
Life’s a Stitch 2
Manner of Happiness
This is a re-do of a painting I did a few months ago. The former was on paper and too large for my scanner so I could never make a good copy. I shrunk it down a little, painted it on aqua board ( 5″x7″) and I like it just the same. Today I’ve gotten in some good quilting and painting and am now cozy by my fire. Bliss. Hope you have been able to live happy today!
Pink House in Autumn
Quilter’s Home
Can you tell a quilter lives here? If you are a quilter, can people tell as soon as they walk through your door? How about before they even come in? I must admit I proclaim my addiction right on my front porch where there is always a seasonal quilt tossed over a chair. If that wasn’t clue enough, guests are bombarded with quilting first thing in my front foyer. What’s your quilting house like?

Day 30 Yay!! Now I can take a rest. I feel like I’ve really grown as an artist. I like the work I did this challenge better than what I started with the last challenge in January. Leslie will have to do this again so I can keep improving! I almost doubled the number of people following my blog for which I am grateful. In means so much to me to have someone look at my creative efforts. I hope you will keep checking out what I’m doing in the days and weeks ahead.
I am especially grateful for all of you that sent such nice, supportive comments on my paintings. It has really given me the confidence to keep trying. I thank you for that. I will keep painting and I will keep quilting. And I will try to believe that the best is yet to come!
Here is my last painting for awhile. It is larger than the rest and I really tried to push myself to do my best work for the 30th painting. I love color, pumpkins, houses, funky birds and quilting. I tried to get them all in this last one.
Give Thanks
Day 22
It’s Autumn. With all the beautiful colors starting to appear and the pumpkins on my porch, my thoughts turn to our beautiful world. And how thankful I feel to live in it. This song/hymn has been running through my mind:
For thy bounteous blessings
For thy wonderous work,
For thy loving kindness,
We give thanks, O Lord.
Enjoy the beautiful colors of harvest time!
