Patriotic Bird
Greet the Day Quilt
Sometime ago, I painted a little painting that featured a red bird basking in the sunshine. I thought the design would make a great applique project. So I recently drew out the pattern and made this small quilted wallhanging. It hangs in my front entryway.
I used machine applique (my preferred method because it is faster!) and added some simple quilting. Yes, I actually pieced those little red squares!
It came out pretty close to the original painting. So what do you think?

Day 11 Early Bird
This bird is so early, she’s already decorated her eggs for Easter! She’s way ahead of the game. For once I am too. I’m posting Saturdays’ Day 11 painting a couple of hours early so I can sleep in tomorrow. I am having fun trying to paint a variety of things for this 30 day painting challenge. It’s also fun to see what all my artist friends (almost 400 of them) are coming up with each day as well. Leslie’s is the first blog I check every morning. Can’t wait to see what pops up tomorrow.
