A Quilt for Me!

Pam’s drunkards path quilt

Being a professional machine quilter, I do a lot of quilting.  But rarely are the quilts mine.  I finish other people’s quilts.  I started this quilt way back in July, I think.  I start LOTS of quilts.  They don’t always get finished.  This one did!  And it is just for me!  I wanted something warm to cuddle up in when I’m watching TV.

It make it extra warm, I added wool batting and backed it with a cuddly fleece.IMG_0851

You may recognize this pattern from an earlier post.  The setting is a variation using the curved drunkard’s path block.  All the fabrics were from my stash, so this was stash busting!   Those cream colored “paths” were just screaming for some feathers.IMG_0844 Of course since it’s my quilt, I quilted my name in the center.

It looks great on my new sofa.  And yes, it is very warm.IMG_0836

Pink Tablerunner

I recently finished this little runner for my kitchen table.  It was supposed to be for February/Valentines Day.  Well, yes, it is a few months late, but at least it is completed and not hanging around my sewing room any more!

The pink, red and orange color scheme came from the dishes above the table.  When we built our home several years ago, I just had to have a plate shelf.

I designed the flower appliques.  And I used  fusible web to attach them and finished off the edges with a satin stitch.   I did very little piecing for the background as the fabric was already printed with 1 inch stripes.   I finished it off by quilting around the flowers with my signature free-hand feathers.

IMG_0456This was one of those “just for me” projects that I rarely get to.

Unfortunately, I picked the wrong time of day to get a good picture, but you get the idea.
