Day 5 Winter Fun
Let it Snow
It’s supposed to snow a bit here tomorrow. It’s certainly cold enough! We had a 40 degree temperature drop in just the last few days. We can’t stop winter from coming, so might as well enjoy it. Plus, my outdoor Christmas lights look that much better with a few inches of snow.

Winter Fox
Woodland creatures seem to be all the rage now. I did see a fox in our neighborhood over the summer. It was a treat. Who knows where he came from. This fox looks a little cold. At least he has a few friends to keep him company.
Winter Fun?
I must admit, I don’t look forward to cold, snow and ice. Winter in Chicago is NOT my favorite season. And even though it’s over a month away on the calendar, it has been rearing it’s ugly head this week. Burrrr! This little painting helps me grin and bear it. I can fool myself into thinking winter is cute and fun!
Frosty and Friends
Winter is coming! Yikes! We had our first real freeze last night and today’s high will only be in the 40’s. After over 35 years in the Chicago area, (I’m originally from hot, dry Las Vegas), you would think I would be used to the cold, but I’m not. I just grin and bear it. The good news is that on cold days I can flip a switch and have an instant gas fire in my sitting/sewing room. I LOVE my fireplace. I’m even guilty of opening a window on cooler days so the room will get cold enough to turn my fireplace on. Is that crazy or what?
Here’s my latest snowman painting. And coming from me, of course he is sporting a patchwork coat!
What do you like about winter?
