I wish I was more original. I saw a drawing similar to this on Pinterest with a cat sitting in the chair. I decided it should be a bunny holding a flower in my painting. Is that cheating?

Hey Pam, in a “former life” in the USA, my other half (at the time) had an idea and we took it to the city and met a man at an invention office. You took your ideas to them, paid them to do research and they give you all the ends and outs of your idea, how much money you could make, etc… (this was the early ’90s)
This man told us that when you have an idea that someone else has done, all you have to do is change it by 15% and you can recreate and market it, it isnt considered plagiarism. I dont know if that counts in the art world too, things are changing constantly.
Anyway that little tip came to mind lol.

Thanks, Cindy. Good to know. I do have a book called “Steal Like an Artist”, but I can’t remember what it is about. I still feel guilty that I look at other art for ideas.
