You have probably noticed that I haven’t blogged for some time. My excuse is that I just got back from 10 days touring China–Shanghai, Beijing and Xi’an (where the Terra Cotta Warriors are). I have so much I could talk about, that even though we have been back since late Monday night, I didn’t know where to start. So I will just give a quick recap. My brother, Robert, is the U.S. Consul General at the consulate in Shanghai. He planned our itinerary. Our group consisted of my husband, David, another brother Mike, his wife, Kularb, and me. I can’t begin to describe how wonderful this trip was!
Here we are at a restaurant in Shanghai–not far from my brother and sister in law’s residence in the French Concession.
My husband, David, in People’s Park near the Bund (financial center of the British/American Concession in the 1920’s and 30’s)
Chinese dumplings for lunch.
On the Great Wall. (50 miles north of Beijing)
LOTS of steps!
On our way into the Forbidden City. (Beijing)
The place was HUGE!
Dragon boats at the Summer Palace. (Beijing)
The Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi’an.
There are thousands of them! All life sized and each is unique. Unbelievable! ( Sorry, these pics from my ipad aren’t very good)
At the Humble Administrator’s Garden in Suzhou (outside of Shanghai).
This garden is gorgeous! And over 1000 years old!
Another interesting lunch. Guess who learned to use chopsticks!
Flower market in Shanghai. Wish this was near MY home.
I could go on and on, but I would never finish this post! If anyone has thought of traveling to China, I would highly recommend it. You will be quite impressed. It was a fabulous trip!
so interesting to view the pictures, awesome!!

This one is on my bucket list although I can not complain, I have also had a very good trip to South Africa, even saw a lion! It cannot compare to the Great wall though.

South Africa sounds pretty cool! I am not a world traveler, so this trip was really special.

I don’t know that we will ever take a trip like this again, so I am thankful that I have a lot of pictures to remember it by. I don’t think I will forget this experience any time soon, though!
