According to the little info I could find on the Internet, quilt block pattern names came from the women who made them. The quilts’ names reflected women’s homes, family life, the environment, religious beliefs and even political happenings.
I couldn’t find anything specific about this block “Cat’s Cradle”, other than it’s name and pattern.
